We have recently upgraded our site and removed the A-Z listing of categories – this has helped speed up page deliveries and the site as a whole.
Thanks to all the local businesses for their support and we look forward to future upgrades and service improvements.
In order to maintain a higher quality directory we review every business listing before they are published.
Because of Google and their “link ranking” methodology, we are inundated with SPAM business link submits, up to hundreds a day!
We are now actively blocking the IP addresses of people who try to submit junk links and information into our directory… and in just a few short days have blocked out the main (repeat) offenders.
Most of these are “SEO” companies trying to build links to manipulate Google and are not even caring what category they are submitting to, nor what text is going into the listings.
This type of submit will result in an IP BAN – so the next time they come to visit they will simply get a dead page…
If you are going to submit a listing PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES as stated on the business submit form and you shouldn’t have any problem getting listed on our site.
We had to remove the listing sorting by number of views for the time being. Due to the high volume of listings our site was slowed down significantly and we also found that people were abusing the system by clicking competitors to move them to the bottom of the list.
We are currently working on an alternative / improved method to bring back sorting by number of views and will post and update should a solution be found.
To update your listing simply log into your account and view your business profile under My Account > Business Profile. You can view your ads and make changes to your business details, update images, re-list expired listings and update your main account details.
